As I mentioned here, I am the proud new parent of a darling little Papillon. Along with morning cuddle-times and afternoon fetch sessions, Pip and I are doing quite a bit of walking. Though it would definitely be easiest just to roll out of bed and wander the streets of LA in my nightgown, there are a few problems with this. First of all, it is creepy. Second, when one has a pup as fancy and fashionable as mine, one must put in a little effort to make sure that one matches Pip’s show-quality style. (Side note- I have been told multiple times that Pip and I look alike. Am I flattered that I look like my six-pound furball? Absolutely.) And, when you have a stylish dog in a stylish city, you better represent. This getup is in no way elaborate, but it is pulled together enough that I don’t feel like I’m embarrassing my little guy. Or myself, should I run into someone I know. And the hat, sunglasses and cross-body bag make it efficient should we choose to turn our stroll into a full-on hike. Form and function. What more can a new dog mommy ask for?
