As the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer (duh, how can you have one without the other?), Angelenos are making their final beach pilgrimages for 2014. But, never one to (pardon my French) half-ass it, I of course chose to wear an evening dress for my last trek out to Venice Beach. For my local readers, you are aware of what a trek it actually is to make it out to the beach when you spend most of your time holed up on the Eastside of town. And visa versa. It’s ironic to call myself a California girl and rarely make it out to the beach but, aside from my travels, I am almost never on the sand. Which is why I decided to dress up for the occasion. Just kidding. In actuality, I love the contrast of high and low, formal at a casual locale. And where better to christen this Thomas Wylde frock (scored at his sample sale for a relative steal) than at the beach? Where I can formally bid summer adieu.
