There’s nothing that helps me collect my thoughts and gather myself quite like a good hike. And, despite living in a car-centric city, LA offers an amazing range of hikes. Being an Eastsider and dog owner, I am partial to Runyon Canyon and Griffith Park. But the Westside has a wealth of beautiful trails, too. Check out this site for a bunch of suggestions. There’s something about walking outside for a bit in the city where no one walks. It may sound cliché, but it really is good for the body and soul. The next time you need a little pick-me-up (or just a nice, butt-kicking workout), might I suggest you take a hike?
P.S. For whatever reason, LA hikers are extremely hot. The shades are big, the shorts are short and the lips are glossed. Consider yourself warned and dress accordingly.
