When I launched The LA Survival Guide a few months ago, I made the conscious decision that I would try to look somewhat pulled together whenever I left the house. This is not to say that I would always be dressed to the nines. More that I would try not to wear my father’s sweatpants out and about anymore. I figured that I couldn’t tell someone I was a style blogger while, at the same time, showing little to no style of my own. It just wouldn’t be good advertising. But, I am human. Sometimes I just can’t think of a creative new way to style a button down. And I don’t always feel like getting all dolled up. For days like those, I throw on something like this. While appearing somewhat fashionable and stylish, it really requires little effort to put together. Observe. Layered stripes and army jacket, both constant yeses amongst the sartorial set. Jeans are a no-brainer. And the rest is in the bold accessories. A statement necklace, beautiful handbag and lace-up booties tie everything together in a way that says you know you’re way around your wardrobe. Which, of course, you do now. Stylishly unstyled is always in style.
