Despite my love of dressing up, every now and then, I don’t feel like wearing pants. This is followed by the acknowledgement that it is frowned upon to leave home without wearing something on the bottom. And finally, the compromise that if I must indeed get dressed, then it is going to be a sweatpants kind of day. A sweatpants kind of day is exactly how it sounds; it is a day where, no matter what my obligations may be, I will tend to all whilst wearing sweats. Now I realize that the immediate association with sweatpants is laziness (and rightly so), which is why I’ve made a point of purchasing sweatpants that can masquerade as daywear. This pair, by Kelly Wearstler, is the first thing I reach for when I want to wear sweats but need to make it further than my couch. The sharp tailoring and tie dye allow me laziness to slide under the radar. The leather-trimmed pockets earn a few extra cool points. The piece de resistance? A studded, leather fanny pack. Because, sometimes, I am also too lazy to carry a bag.
