I live to travel. Anytime I get the opportunity to go somewhere, near or far, my rule is to always say “Yes!” I recently learned that wanderlust may be genetic (read the fascinating article here). Given that I have two passport-happy parents, it is no wonder that my life mission is to explore the globe. They say that you can take the girl out of the city, but you can’t take the city out of the girl. I may let my blowouts and organic eating slide when I’m out on the open road. But one habit that I can’t quit, no matter where I am, is my propensity to shop. In fact, I dare say that my consumerism goes in to hyperdrive when abroad. I feel that dropping in on a city’s boutiques and markets is as imperative as visiting it’s monuments and museums. You really get an idea of the culture, style and artistry of a place by perusing their local crafts and wares. Case in point- this angelic tunic I picked up the last time I was in Buenos Aires. The laser-cut bib elevates it from a basic blouse into a work of art. And, I love that I can enjoy my souvenirs long after I’ve returned home. It’s my way of extending the adventure until my next escape.
