In LA, brunch isn’t a meal; it’s a religion. And I am a faithful follower. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is about brunch that’s so magical. Maybe it’s the perfect marriage of breakfast and lunch, the best of both worlds. Or the fact that you can sleep past breakfast but still get your waffles and pancakes at a more decent hour. And it doesn’t hurt that the signature drink happens to be a mimosa. How can you not love a meal that’s kicked of with a glass of champagne? Part of the fun is dressing for the occasion. Something not too formal (unless you’re headed to the yacht club), but nice enough in case brunch trickles into another outing. This is the perfect ensemble for a springtime brunch. Doesn’t the floral pattern remind you of mimosas? The army jacket takes the dressiness down a notch, but it’s cropped, asymmetrical cut keeps me from looking sloppy. Because we’re not just going to eat. We’re going to worship.
