How much is too much? When it comes to clothing, my feeling is that there’s never enough. I look at my wardrobe as one might look at a set of paints. Yes, you can get by with just red, yellow and blue. You can blend, mix and match. But, why would you want to when you could have all of the colors? Magenta, chartreuse, mustard, the possibilities are endless. I see my closet in the same way I see a palate. I want to have an infinite number of possibilities, including the basics. That being said, no matter how many options you have (and I have many), once in a while, you are bound to repeat. Thus, without further ado, my first outfit repeat on The LA Survival Guide. Of course, I’ve worn the same accessories and separates on the blog; but, never the main piece. This black, strapless romper was on my very first blog post. (Check it out here.) Now, I could almost definitely get away with an exact outfit repeat without anyone noticing. In the early stages, my blog was not yet public; my parents were pretty much my only readers. But, where is the fun in that? One of my favorite parts of my Style Guide posts is experimenting with new wardrobe combos. And though my closet in jam-packed, it is not (yet) endless. Just like everyone else, I have to play it again, so to speak. But, just because I’m wearing the same romper, doesn’t mean it has to look the same. The first time around, it was more of a going out ensemble- lots of skin, high wedges, etc. This time, I went for something a little more casual and everyday. A cardigan makes the tiny romper a little more modest; the flats allow for a lot more running around. One item, two looks. Because even though you have all of the paints, you are bound to return to your favorite colors every now and again.
