Orange has always been a color I’ve shied away from. Maybe it has to do with someone telling me it made me look like an Oompa Loompa. I don’t know. Even now though, I own very few tangerine pieces. But the truth is that I actually kind of like the color. Much like it’s citrusy sibling, yellow, wearing orange puts me in a good mood. It’s bright and cheerful and so, by extension, am I anytime that I sport the happy hue. The key, of course, is not to go overboard. Orange packs a powerful punch, so I’d suggest leaving it to one item. Keep the rest of the ensemble somewhat neutral so as not to overwhelm. Remember, despite the clever Netflix show title, orange isn’t actually the new black. Don’t wear it from head to toe unless you’d like to be mistaken for a cast member.
