From the look of this picture, you’d never guess that I’m a virgin, right? Fringe booties, hot pants, tousled hair- I must be experienced. But, I’m not. I am a music festival virgin. Though an avid music lover and an enjoyer of all live performance, I’ve yet to take the plunge. I blame the crowds. And the heat. And the dust. While I can’t pinpoint the exact moment it happened, music festivals have become incredibly stylish. And I’m not just talking about the bands. These gatherings are now the best places to see and be seen in all your fringed finery. But, what I’m noticing is that people are no longer leaving their boho babe style in the desert. It is invading the everyday street scene and I, for one, am a fan. It’s that laid-back, casual sexiness that just screams LA. I’m considering this my practice run. I’ve just purchased tickets to next year’s Coachella. VIP, of course. While I may love the music and style, I can’t bring myself to sweating it out with the crowd. Not yet, anyhow. Baby steps.
