I am a rule breaker. Though, in actuality, breaker may be too strong a word. Perhaps rule bender is more accurate a descriptor. While I am not one to precisely follow the guidelines, I am not exactly doing my own thing, either. Case in point- high school. I had a permanent seat in detention. Now this wasn’t for cutting class or smoking in the girls room, but rather for tardiness and uniform violations. I was a little naughty, but not a full-on wild child. Times haven’t changed. I still chronically run a few minutes behind. And I have a definite issue sticking to the universally understood wardrobe standards. I love mixing prints, formalwear is not reserved for nighttime and white is worn year-round. Labor Day has come and gone, but my whites will remain in heavy rotation. I picked up this dress from a street vendor in Santiago, Chile; it has remained one of my favorites, for both beach and city. I may be years past high school, but my rebel flag still flies as half-mast as it did way back when.
