2015 was a doozie, to say the least. I changed locations, careers and, essentially, lifestyles in the second half of the year. Although I’ve been clinging to the hope that those changes were for the best, they definitely left my head spinning. And by New Year’s Eve, I had had it. I called it quits. I feel like I’ve been juggling things for so long and trying to keep a smile on my face in the process. But, I really haven’t allowed myself to marinate on everything because I’m constantly on the go. As luck (or irony) would have it, I was struck down with a tidal wave of emotion on December 31. Completely overwhelmed, I took a timeout. I cancelled my plans, ordered takeout and was asleep by 8:30 pm. Not my most memorable celebration to date. But a much needed break none the less. And I was able to begin the next day (and the new year) with a fresh start. The timing wasn’t great. But it made for a very poetic close of 2015 and start to 2016. Plus, it gave me something to write about. Which is all I’m ever really after anyhow.
