Returning home after vacation is always bittersweet. On the sweet side, I’m reunited with my Pipsqueak. On the bitter, the end of a holiday can only mean one thing- the resumption of real life. And, as you’re all too aware of by now, I tend to reside somewhere outside the lines of reality. (I mean, hello. Who thinks that a denim jacket, bikini and ball skirt makes acceptable beach attire?) Thus making travel my sweet spot.
If you took my suggestion and kept up with my socials, you know that my trip to Asia was awesome. (I’ll have more details, along with photos and recommendations, in upcoming posts.) Don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t all shopping and sushi. I didn’t understand or, with the exception of “Hello,” “Thank You” and a lot of bowing, pick up on the languages very well. I was sweating for the entire 12 days. And, without exaggeration, I spent about 50 percent of the time lost, confused or both. But, despite being a sweaty, bewildered mess for the better part of two weeks, I was completely in my element. And if I had my little Pip (and an endless supply of yen), I could have kept going forever. Traveling the world is everything. It makes me feel creative, inspired and free in the best way possible. So, while it’s always nice to return to the comforts of home (namely burritos, blowouts and the beach), there’s one question at the forefront of my mind-
Where am I going to go next?
