Being hot is a lot of work. You’re constantly having to do something. You’re supposed to have a ton of hair (perfectly coiffed, of course) from the nose up and be totally groomed from the nostrils down. You must make frequent trips to Pilates and the dermatologist to ensure that gravity does not take its toll. Say nothing of teetering around in sky-high heels, half-starving from your low carb diet, while you try to wriggle you way into the latest dress. It’s exhausting. But, what if being hot wasn’t so much work? What if parts of it were easy? Enjoyable even? Enter Beaming. Beaming is a small, Southern California chain of organic, superfood cafes, offering everything from cold-pressed juices and superfood smoothies to amazing soups, salads and baked goods. To me, it is my go-to lunch and snack spot roughly five days a week. Does this mean I eat out too much? Probably. But I just can’t help myself. The food is delicious and I feel better when I eat there. And, I don’t know about you, but when I feel better, I know that I look better, too. I’m two days into my cleanse right now and I feel great. Honestly. Let’s put it this way. Not only is this the only cleanse I’ve done multiple times, it is also the only one I’ve never cheated on. The problem I have with most cleanses it that they’re strictly juice. And I miss chewing. Beaming goes way beyond the “traditional” cleanse by including soups, salads and smoothies each day. I don’t feel like I’m suffering for the sake of beauty. I enjoy it. Because you know what’s an even better compliment than when you say I’m hot? When you say I’m beaming.
